Please note: All prospective homes will be required to have a pre-adoption home check and post home checks. All dogs available for re-homing are neutered/speyed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and de-flead. We generally do not rehome dogs to homes with children under the age of 8 years, but this depends on the individual dog and the circumstances of the adopter.
Saffy is a beautiful 3 year old white Staffordshire Bull Terrier female. She has been speyed and is up to date with her vaccinations. We are ideally looking for a forever home for Saffy, but we are also seeking a foster home where she could stay until we can find her a permanent home, as we would like her to be in a more suitable home environment as soon as possible. Saffy has been kept on the lead on walks for pretty much all of her life, so she isn’t all that keen on other dogs, (not surprisingly!) For this reason, a dog free home is needed, as well as a home without children or with older teenaged children. I have been told she is excellent with young children, but as I have not seen it first hand, I cannot confirm it personally.
Saffy is looking for a new home due to her owner’s ill health. Unfortunately her owner’s mobility has been affected, so Saffy has not been taken outside to do her business as often as she needs, this is leading to Saffy having no option but to go to the toilet indoors at times. This is not her fault, and she is a housetrained dog! But this being the case, she will need time and understanding from someone if she has accidents in the house which she is bound to do at first, until she is taken out once again as many times as she needs to go to the toilet, like any other dog. This girl is absolutely beautiful, when I met her, she soon covered me with kisses and lay on her back for a tummy rub. She is just crying out to be loved. I’ve totally fallen for this poor lass, and I hope someone will come forward, as she needs a home where she will get the love, full life and the exercise she needs.

Poppy was in a foster home, but has had to be returned to kennels due to her foster carer’s change in circumstances. We are ideally looking for a forever home for Poppy, but as she is in kennels again, which is very unsettling for her having been in a foster home, we would love to find another foster home for Poppy whilst she’s waiting to find a permanent home. Important update on Poppy
If you’ve been following Poppy’s story, you’ll know that she was adopted but then returned 24 hours later. The reason the adopter gave was that Poppy had gone for another dog whilst out on a walk the morning after the people adopted her.
Poppy had been initially assessed as good with other dogs, but after Poppy was returned, and having been given this information, we had to have her re-assessed with other dogs. During awaiting the assessment, we had to change her profile as not good with other dogs, due to what we had been told, until the assessment had been carried out. The change we had to make to her profile would have reduced her chances of finding a permanent home, but we had a responsibility to change her details until we knew for sure.
The re-assessment has now been done and here is a summary of the report:
“Poppy was introduced her to several dogs two of which would of quite liked to eat her and she completely turned the other way and ignored them. Although I introduced her to our old boy who wouldn’t say boo to a goose and she did tell him off. It wasn’t a nasty go just a little grumble but he didn’t go back at her which could of been why, she walked quite happily alongside him after this. I would say she would be better suited to an only dog household she was fine with all the dogs she met in the open but seems like she likes her own company.”
We have the full assessment if a potential adopter would like to read it.
Bearing in mind that this alleged ‘attack’ on another dog happened whilst Poppy was on a walk at the home she was returned from, we can only assume that the incident was either exaggerated or down to inexperienced handling, and that Poppy was in a highly stressed state, which would be understandable, given that she is a rescue dog and had literally only just left her foster home into a new environment with people she did not yet know.
Poppy is a speyed Boxer X Staffie girl, aged approxmitately 1-2 years old. The Boxer in her is definitely the prominent breed as you can see from her photos. Poppy came to us from a pound She was found wandering the streets by a member of the public and she almost got hit by a car. When she was found she had obviously had pups no more than two weeks previously, but she was found alone without her puppies
Poppy was in a poor state when she went into foster care but she has made such excellent progress. She has gained weight and blossomed into the beautiful dog she is now. She is an absolute joy to our foster carers, who would keep her if they could! Poppy is extremely affectionate, she is also full of character and fun. Her foster carers have expressed many times how much joy and laughter Poppy has brought to the family.
Poppy is fine with other dogs outside, but she would prefer to be the only dog in a home. We are also looking for a home without cats or small furries for Poppy as she would want to chase cats and smaller animals. Poppy could also be homed to a family with teen aged children. She is quite a big, strong girl and therefore she would be too big for young children. Poppy would do best in a home with someone who enjoys lots of walks and the outdoors, she has lots of energy and although she isn’t a ‘dizzy busy’ dog in the home, she thoroughly enjoys the outdoors and plenty of space and walks.
She would also love to be with someone who has experience with dogs, not for any negative reasons, but just because she needs someone who understands dogs to guide her and reassure her. In our foster carer’s words “Poppy loves attention above all else… Cuddle her and the world is a better place! When we come down in the morning, she’s hilarious… she grins and grins and grins and wags and makes HUGE LOUD yawns. Whoever takes her on will be taking on an enormous character”
