Milo…

After 5 months of being in boarding kennels, this gorgeous ex death row dog has finally found a home! Fantastic news We are so happy for you Milo and for your new family, we know you are absolutely perfect for eachother!

Arthur…

The handsome Arthur, another ex ‘death row’ Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Arthur went into emergency boarding kennels and then into a foster home in Exeter, Devon. Poor Arthur waited for 11 months to find his forever home, but we finally found the person who was destined to be Arthur’s owner, and he is now starting his new life in his new home. Have a happy life Arthur and his new ‘Mum’ Denise xx

Annie…

Annie, a gorgeous Staffordshire Bull Terrier female now has a loving new home in Devon, with a new canine friend

Zak…

Zak is a gorgeous Staffordshire Bull Terrier boy aged approximately 3 years old, who came to us from a pound. He was as good as gold while he was in foster care with us. He was wonderful with other dogs and as soft as butter, both with people, adults and children and other dogs. He was adopted by a lovely lady in Devon who adores him. He has a staffie ’sister’ now too, and the two dogs adore eachother. Thank you to Becky for giving Zak such a fantastic home!

Tai…

Tai, a 6-8 year old brindle staffie girl came to us from a pound in the South East of England. She was at risk of being put to sleep as she had run out of time at the pound just before Christmas 2009. She waited a long time to find her forever home, but she is now thoroughly enjoying life in a permanent home with a couple in Devon.

Elmo…

Elmo, the boy who has it all! Elmo, a one year old (approx) black and white Staffordshire Bull Terrier who came to Once Loved Dog Rescue from a pound. He is everything you could ever want in a staffie, cute, cuddly, oh so handsome! Bright as a button and a wonderful sense of humour. Elmo was a joy to have around when he was in foster care with us. So willing to please and so much fun. He is a little ray of sunshine that lit up our lives and is now doing the same for the lady who gave him a home. He is exceptionally cuddly, and likes to snuggle in really closely for hugs and kisses. Elmo is a very clever little man who is responding really well to his training. He picks things up so quickly and he is so eager to please that he thoroughly enjoys his training. Elmo is thoroughly enjoying his new life in his forever home with his new Mum, Jo. Barney…

Barney is a beautiful 2 year old labrador cross. He was originally at a kennels from a puppy. He was then returned at about 8 months. For the next year Barney was in kennels with minimal interaction with people. One of our foster carers knew of Barney and decided to take it upon herself to try and help him.

Barney has been rehomed to a family in Cornwall who absolutely adore him. Here are some photos of Barney in his forever home…

Woody…

We got a call from someone about a male staffie boy who had been kept in a cage for so long that his claws were horribly overgrown and he was covered in his own mess. A member of the public had noticed this dog, and taken pity. The owner didnâ€™t want the dog, so he took the dog home and had his claws cut. He took him out for a walk, and he had been in the cage for so long that his feet bled. The poor boy! He couldnâ€™t keep Woody though, even though he would have loved to, so we were contacted and Woody was placed with one of our foster carers.

Woody is now living life to the full. He found his forever home with a couple in the westcountry. Here is a message from his forever ‘Mum’

We are absolutely loving our new little family with woody hes definitely completed us, we have taken millions of pics so i hope u get them with this,hes definitely a star in the village and everyone remembers him at the car boots, it takes us twice as long to get round with everyone talking to him bless saying how beautiful he is, hes loving going for walks and deciding which room to sleep on at night but his favourite is to sneak up the covers between me and us and having a cuddle, hope that everthing is ok and that you like woodys pics, thank you so much again.

Gypsy & Rosie…

Gypsy is a beautiful 1 year old Labrador cross female, medium collie size, who came to us from a pound. Rosie, a 3 year old staffie female was also abandoned at the pound, and both girls went into foster care together, where they became friends. Gypsy and Rosie have both been rehomed to a permanent home together. We are so happy that they have been given the opportunity to share a new life together

Beatrice…

little Beatrice is a 1-2 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier female who came to us from the pound. As you can see, she’s an absolute babe, and knows exactly how to pose for the camera! Bea is a fun loving, snuggle bug. She is great with other dogs and she can also live with cats, and although she probably wouldn’t say they were her best mates, she would never do them any harm. She is living with cats presently in her foster home. Bea does have bowed back legs, but it’s not causing her any problems at the moment, and it doesn’t take anything away from her stunning good looks! It will probably result in her having arthritis at a later stage in her life, and earlier than some other dogs, but if you are the kind of person who likes to go on 10 mile treks, Bea wouldn’t be the girl for you. She enjoys moderate exercise but nothing too over the top. Bea would be best living with older children, over the age of 12, not for any reason other than she might bowl younger children over in a moment of over-exuberance, but generally she is a calm girl, very cool…!

All she needs now is some stylish shades and we could see her on the cover of Vogue! Bea is house-trained and travels beautifully. She is an all round lovely girl and will be a wonderful addition to any home. Beatrice has now found her forever home and we wish her and her new family every joy and happiness together for many years.

Georgie…

Georgie came to us having been in kennels for a long time. She was desperately in need of some home comforts and she soon became a happy and content little dog and thrived in foster care.Â She has now found a loving forever home, and a new doggie ‘brother’ Wishing you all our love and lots of happiness in your new home Georgie.

Message from Georgie’s new Mum..

Georgie is an absolute gem and they have hardly stopped playing since we
brought her home, they were both so shattered last night they didn’t
want their bedtime walk!
It is as if she has been with us for always, she has found her
favourtite chair…likes to take all of barneys toys and chews off him
and then pokes him in the side with whatever she’s pinched so he will
chase her to get it back!
She met the children on Friday and they absolutely adore her, she is
perfect for Hollie our youngest who loves to cuddle, georgie was in her
element and was so gentle with all of them.
She showed a little jealousy of the cats if they came near us when she
is laying on our knees but the cat has had a ‘little word’ with her and
the pecking order has been restored.
When Jack said she slept on the bed he wasn’t totally honest…..the
first night we had her she was asleep on the foot of the bed and I
popped out to the loo and when I came back she had gone, I assumed she
had gone into her basket….but when I pulled the duvet back there she
was head on pillow and very comfy….she was like a lead weight to move.
All in all we are totally in love with her and she is as happy as I
think any dog can be. When I can keep them still I will email you some
photies, I have some ‘action shots’ I took last night so I will get them
off the camera and send to you hopefully this evening.

Eenie Weenie Edie…

Edie or ‘Eenie Weenie Edie’ as she is affectionately known was taken in by Once Loved Dog Rescue as she was due to be put to sleep. Edie was a delight and everyone who met her fell in love with her whilst she was in foster care. She has now found her forever home and we are over the moon for her and her new family.

Message from Edie’s new Mum..

Hi Sophie,
Everything is going so well, I couldn’t have wished for it to be better!
Edie had 1 little toileting accident on her 1st day here but has been brilliant since. She even jumped on me at 1:30 this morning to let me know that she needed to go and scared me half to death because I was sound asleep, It was quite funny though!
Edie and Tyler really hit it off from the start, they share the same bed (Edie didn’t make a sound all night) and they even eat from the same plate when we give them scraps.
I have found out that Edie isn’t that quiet anymore, she absolutely loves to play fetch, if she was younger she would have been amazing at fly ball. When she has had enough of chewing the ball she barks at me to throw it again and is very demanding that I throw it again.
I have taken her out for short walks everyday that she has been here and she loves to go, she is allot fitter than I thought she would be, she isn’t panting when she comes home from walking but poor Tyler is.
On Saturday I spent allot of money on her (and Tyler) in Jolleys, I got them matching collars, leads and name tags. Lots and lots and lots of treats and as I think I mentioned to you that Tyler is beginning to get arthritis so I bought some supplements (Vet recommended) to help her with this but it also builds muscle and cartilage, so Edie is having them too.
Edie gets on with my cats really well although they have startled her a few times when they’re running round like maniacs chasing each other.
Edie is a very loyal girl as she follows me round everywhere I go just like Tyler
Well anyway as I said above I could not have wished for better, she is a gorgeous girl and is everything I could have ever wished for. Thank you so much for letting me have such a wonderful girl, I don’t know why anybody would have wanted to let her go.

Libby (now renamed ‘Abigail’)

Abigail came to us from a pound in the North of England where she was due to be put to sleep. She is a beautiful English Bull Terrier x Staffie girl who is very loving and affectionate. Abbie now has a loving forever home of her own. We wish Abi, and her new ‘Mum’ Gina all the best for the future

Message from Abi’s new ‘Mum’…”Abi is doing really well. She is such a sweet, loving dog and I can’t imagine life without her now! She has settled in very well…..she loves long walks in the park across the road from where I live and gets excited on her beach walks trying to bite the waves. Its quite a funny thing to watch!

My fella has really taken to her too and calls her “his baby”…which coming from a big mean looking biker is quite sweet. Everyone who meets her can’t believe she was a rescue dog. Abi’s really doing well and enjoyed a visit to the seaside and to Pets At Home today where her new “daddy” spoiled her rotten!!”

Sammy…

Sammy is a black/brindle neutered Staffordshire Bull Terrier Male, aged approximately 2 years old.Â Sammy is one of the kindest, sweetest dogs you could ever meet. He really has a heart of gold. Sammy had been abandoned at the pound, and was due to be put to sleep, as he had â€™servedâ€™ his seven days and was unclaimed. He then spent quite a long time in kennels. He was fostered with us and completely won over the dogs he was in foster care with. Sammy even managed to win over a grumpy old pointer who hasnâ€™t played with a male dog in years! In fact, he wouldnâ€™t even entertain the idea, this just shows you what a special dog Sammy is! Sammy has now been adopted by a couple in the Lincs area. We are so happy that Sammy has such a special, loving home.

Message from Sammy’s new ‘Mum and Dad’ Sammy has settled in so well we are very proud of him. He has a routine now and is loving it. He is such a lovely little man and like you said very cuddly. Lily…

Beautiful Lily, who was abandoned at the pound, like so many other poor staffies. Lily was with Once Loved Dog Rescue for four months before she found her forever home. She had interest, but oddly, the homes kept falling through and didn’t work out for her. They say everything happens for a reason, and it was certainly true in this case. The lady who gave Lily her permanent home eventually found her, and it was clearly meant to be! Lily is now with her new adoptive ‘Mum’ and they are both enjoying each-others company immensely. We are so happy for lovely Lily, she is such a special little dog.

Message from Lily’s new ‘Mum:

Hello, Sophie,
Things are going really, really well with Lil, she is just the most amazing little dog. I think she’s settling in really well, and, if it doesn’t sound too weird, I think she’s got an amazing amount to her: I think she’s very sensitive, and although she is very cool about everything, I think she’s gradually becoming more and more relaxed and more herself.
She is such a wonderful little character – and she is, as you said, a very, very funny dog (intentionally and unintentionally).
I think she’s having a pretty good time living here: she’s amazingly sociable, with dogs and people, she’s fine off the lead, very playful with other dogs (whose owners so far have generally really appreciated it – they often say their dogs get a really good workout as Lil plays tag with them, etc. She gets on particularly well with a giant black poodle called Roland who’s also about 18 months old and is very boisterous and cheerful). She is also looking absolutely beautiful: I’ve been feeding her ridiculously expensive food (recommended by the vet, who she gets on so well with that she sometimes wants to pop in for a visit when we’re just passing..), and she’s slim, sleek and glossy – we’re always getting comments about how pretty she is…
I just have to say that she’s also been absolutely brilliant and very gentle/patient/relaxed with friend’s small children, niece, nephews, etc. She is (as you said), a very, very special dog.

Chloe…

Chloe is a crossbreed female, aged between 1 and 2 years old. We know she is crossed with a staffie but we are not sure what other breed she is crossed with. Chloe came to us from a pound in the south-east of England where she was due to be put to sleep as she had run out of time at the pound. Chloe proved to be excellent with children, dogs and cats and she now has a permanent and loving home with a family in Lincs.

Bobo…

This little dog was on the ‘put to sleep’ list at a UK pound. He was literally on his last day, and his time was almost up. This is sadly such a common story, pounds in the UK are literally overflowing with unwanted staffies. He now has a loving forever home, with a family who adore him. He also has a ‘big sister’ a GSD girl called Indy.
Bobo’s name is actually Boson, which evolved to Bobo, the affectionate version of his name. He is one of the sweetest, funniest little dogs I have ever known, when he was in foster care with us, he was always making me laugh with his cute ways, and affectionate nature. I am so happy that he has found such a wonderful home!

Harvey…

Harvey was another ex pound dog who was due to be put to sleep as he had served his 7 days at the pound and had not been claimed. Harvey has such a sweet nature, he was with us for about a month before we found him his forever home, and he was a joy to have around, such a kind hearted boy, who just wanted to be loved. He is now living with a lovely couple who adore him.

Daisy…

Daisy – Miniature Staffordshire Bull Terrier Female, 2 years old.

Daisy – (AKA Squiblet!) isÂ a very cute miniature Staffordshire Bull Terrier, she is about 2 years old. Daisy was abandoned and was in kennels for quite a long time.
