Canine Pyschologist Lisa Tenzin-Dolma

We are lucky enough to have qualified canine psychologist Lisa Tenzin-Dolma as our behaviour advisor. Lisa is the founder of DIAL and the Director of The International School of Canine Psychology. She is a qualified Canine Psychologist, with a Diploma with Distinction in Canine Psychology and a Doctorate in Humanities, and she has had years of experience working with private clients and rescue organizations. She grew up with lots of dogs, and is a dog owner and foster carer. A lifelong fascination with how dogs’ minds work is what led her into training as a Canine Psychologist. Lisa is a member of The Association of INTO Dogs, an organization which promotes positive methods of working with dogs.

Lisa kindly volunteers her time to help our foster carers or adoptive homes with any problems or issues that may arise. She has been absolutely invaluable to Once Loved Dog Rescue. She has been volunteering her time to us and our foster carers and adopters since our very early days as a rescue. She works wonders with any issues or problems and of all the dogs that she has helped in our rescue, there hasn’t been one problem that she hasn’t been able to solve. This has often meant that people who didn’t think they could keep a dog got through an issue with Lisa’s help and the dog remained in his or her forever home. We’re forever grateful to you Lisa.

Lisa also founded DIAL: Dog Issues Advice Line DIAL came about through Canine Psychologist Lisa Tenzin-Dolma’s extensive work with hundreds of rescue dogs, many of whom were abandoned or handed into shelters because their owners simply couldn’t cope with their behaviour. Jumping up, fear-aggression, unruly habits, toilet-training, lack of confidence, separation anxiety, pulling on the lead, incessant barking, obsessive behaviour, and possessiveness are just some of the issues that Lisa works with. Through her methods the lives of many dogs and their owners have been transformed from chaos to calm in just a short period of time.

Not everyone has access to a local behaviourist who uses only positive, compassionate methods to rehabilitate dogs. In Lisa’s private and rescue work she advises long-distance clients as well as carrying out face to face consultations, and both of these methods have proven highly successful. DIAL now brings this service directly to you, and it costs less than a home visit.

On this website you’ll find information about how Lisa works and how you can book a consultation with her. You can find out why dogs do the things they do, read some testimonials, and download Lisa’s free book, Adopting a Rescue Dog.The Gallery page shows photos of a few of the dogs that Lisa has worked with, along with an outline of each dog’s issues.
